Review: Labrinth | Eathquake ft Tinie Tempah.
Timothy McKenzie better known as Labrinth has released the second single off his debut album, ‘Furtherworks’. The London based producer first stepped onto the scene in 2008 having helped produce Master Shortie’s debut album ‘A.D.H.D.’ Although the album failed to chart, it bought Labrinth some well deserved recognition. Since then he has been signed to Simon Cowell’s label SyCo, had a number 1 hit alongside Tinie Tempah with the track ‘Pass Out’ and released his first single entitled ‘Let The Sunshine’ which peaked at number 3 on the UK singles charts. Labrinth now presents his bass pumping track, ‘Earthquake’ featuring Tinie Tempah.
Review: BLACK VEGAS | Black Vegas EP
Electro-pop-rap duo BLACK VEGAS has definitely been at the forefront of my playlist this summer. Comparing themselves to the likes of 3OH!3, Ke$ha, and Cobra Starship, the British duo have set themselves a high standard but it is a standard that they have completely surpassed. It’s almost bizzare to hear of a pop group taking the route of an indie band but this proves to be working for the duo who have complete control over the music they make. Although they are compared to many artists, vocalist Dan and producer Chris have added something that little bit more special to their music. Their eponymous EP which was released on July 3rd 2011 consists of three incredible tracks including ‘Drop The Party’, ‘In The Backseat’ and ‘Timebomb’.

Rihanna’s fifth studio album, ‘Talk That Talk’, to be released on November 18th has definitely caused great excitement amongst her fans, also known as the “Rihanna Navy”. In anticipation of the new album, September 22nd marked the date in which the lead single was released, entitled ‘We Found Love’. The dance track produced by British DJ Calvin Harris, peaked at number 1 in ten different countries and reached the top 5 in many others. Boasting laid back vocals over a fist pumping beat, this tune is definitely one for the clubs!

The British born female gained major success after releasing her album. She went double platinum in the UK and gold in Australia. Winning 4 MOBO’s (out of a possible 5), a Q award, a Brit award and many more, Jessie J has come a long way from making Youtube videos and writing for other artists such as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus. Being inspired by Sinead O’Connor’s video for her biggest hit ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, Jessie J released the video for ‘Who You Are’ on September 29th 2011 so far clocking up over 7 million views.
